Cargo
Transporting boats and yachts
Moving boats and yachts over land is above all a question of width and height. Hull, keel and superstructure determine support; masts and antennas are removed beforehand. At yard and port a crane or travel lift usually lifts.
What matters
- Width and height
- Hull width and height including support determine route and permit.
- Support
- On cradles or stands at the points intended by the manufacturer.
- Dismantling
- Remove and secure mast, antennas, arches and loose parts beforehand.
- Crane or travel lift
- Lifting in and out at yard or port – with their equipment or via partners.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- What length, beam, height and weight?
- Is there a cradle?
- What is removed beforehand?
- Who lifts at collection and destination?
- Yard, port or hall?
What we need from you
- Dimensions and weight
- Support
- Collection and destination
- Date
Preparation: You hand over the cargo ready for loading with known lifting points – dismantling, assembly and foundation work are handled by your team or your installation partner.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Feasibility check per project with questions on missing values
- Coordination of permits, escort vehicles, route surveys and lifting equipment via partners
- Quote with the agreed scope once the transport can be planned
Good to know
Plan mast stepping and lifting in and out with your yard – we align the transport with those dates.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state the cargo, dimensions and weight per piece with units, rough route and time window – marking anything unknown.
- 02
Review
We check dimensions and route and clarify vehicle, permit and lifting.
- 03
Quote
After the feasibility check you receive a quote with the agreed scope, including partner services.
- 04
Execution
Transport after permit, handover at yard, port or hall.
Questions and answers: Boats and yachts
Why do yachts often need special transport?
Because hull beam and height on the vehicle exceed the generally permitted dimensions.
Must the mast be removed before transport?
Yes, masts and tall superstructures are removed beforehand and secured separately.
Who lifts the boat out of the water?
The yard or port with crane or travel lift; where needed we organise lifting via partners.
