Cargo
Transporting pressure vessels
Pressure vessels are cylindrical, often long and with a large diameter. The diameter determines transport height, support on saddles determines load distribution. Nozzles and attachments must be protected.
What matters
- Diameter
- Together with load height it determines overall height – and thus the route.
- Saddles and support points
- The vessel rests on saddles at defined points; they are in the drawing.
- Nozzles and attachments
- Protruding parts are protected or removed beforehand.
- Lifting points
- Lifting lugs per drawing – for loading and erecting.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- What length, diameter and weight?
- Are there transport saddles?
- Where are the lifting points?
- Is it set down horizontally or erected at destination?
- Are there protruding nozzles?
What we need from you
- Dimensions and weight
- Drawing with support and lifting points
- Route
- Time window
Preparation: You hand over the cargo ready for loading with known lifting points – dismantling, assembly and foundation work are handled by your team or your installation partner.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Feasibility check per project with questions on missing values
- Coordination of permits, escort vehicles, route surveys and lifting equipment via partners
- Quote with the agreed scope once the transport can be planned
Good to know
Once the foundation is ready, plant engineering can set the vessel straight after delivery – we agree the date with you.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state the cargo, dimensions and weight per piece with units, rough route and time window – marking anything unknown.
- 02
Review
We check dimensions, support and route and clarify vehicle, permit and lifting.
- 03
Quote
After the feasibility check you receive a quote with the agreed scope, including partner services.
- 04
Execution
Transport on saddles after permit, unloading or erecting with partner crane.
Questions and answers: Pressure vessels
How is a pressure vessel supported on the vehicle?
On saddles at the support points defined in the manufacturer's drawing.
Why is the diameter so important?
Because together with load height it determines overall height – and thus which bridges can be passed.
Can a vessel be erected at destination?
Yes, with partner cranes according to a lift plan. Setting on the foundation is done by plant engineering.
