Heavy and out-of-gauge transport in Germany

In Germany the general limits for trucks include 2.55 m width, 4 m height and 40 t total weight. Above them a transport needs a permit and usually an exemption. Applications run through a nationwide online procedure; conditions come from the authorities along the route.

Planning questions

We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.

  1. What dimensions and weight do the goods have?
  2. From where to where in Germany?
  3. Are there tight access points at loading or unloading?
  4. What time window applies?
  5. Is the load indivisible?

What we need from you

  • Dimensions and weight per piece
  • Route
  • Time window
  • Loading and unloading points

Preparation: You hand over the cargo ready for loading with known lifting points – dismantling, assembly and foundation work are handled by your team or your installation partner.

What we do for you

What we organise

  • Feasibility check per project with questions on missing values
  • Coordination of permits, escort vehicles, route surveys and lifting equipment via partners
  • Quote with the agreed scope once the transport can be planned

Good to know

The sooner dimensions, weight and route are fixed, the sooner we can apply for the permit.

How it works

  1. 01

    Request

You state the cargo, dimensions and weight per piece with units, rough route and time window – marking anything unknown.

  2. 02

    Review

We check dimensions, weight and route and clarify permit, vehicle and escort with partners.

  3. 03

    Quote

After the feasibility check you receive a quote with the agreed scope, including partner services.

  4. 04

    Execution

Transport after the decision, at the approved travel times and with escort as required.
