Cargo
Transporting large switchgear and e-houses
Large switchgear, compact substations and e-houses combine volume, weight and sensitive equipment. They travel upright and with little twisting and are set on the foundation by crane at the installation site.
What matters
- Sensitive equipment
- Switch panels and electronics do not tolerate twisting or hard shocks.
- Upright
- Transport in installed position, secured against tipping.
- Lifting points
- Lifting lugs or spreader beams as specified by the manufacturer.
- Installation site
- Crane position and foundation at substation or plant.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which installation, with dimensions and weight?
- Are there manufacturer requirements on orientation and acceleration?
- Where are the lifting points?
- How is the installation site accessed?
- Who provides the crane?
What we need from you
- Dimensions and weight
- Manufacturer requirements
- Installation site
- Time window
Preparation: You hand over the cargo ready for loading with known lifting points – dismantling, assembly and foundation work are handled by your team or your installation partner.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Feasibility check per project with questions on missing values
- Coordination of permits, escort vehicles, route surveys and lifting equipment via partners
- Quote with the agreed scope once the transport can be planned
Good to know
Agree the delivery time with manufacturer or grid operator – then connection and commissioning can follow directly.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state the cargo, dimensions and weight per piece with units, rough route and time window – marking anything unknown.
- 02
Review
We check dimensions, weight and requirements and clarify vehicle, permit and crane.
- 03
Quote
After the feasibility check you receive a quote with the agreed scope, including partner services.
- 04
Execution
Upright transport after permit, setting on the foundation with partner crane.
Questions and answers: Switchgear
How is large switchgear transported?
Upright, with little twisting and secured against tipping, according to the manufacturer's requirements.
Who sets the substation on the foundation?
A partner crane according to a lift plan; the date is coordinated with the installation site.
Does an e-house need a permit?
If dimensions or weight exceed the general limits, yes – which is common for e-houses.
