Cargo
Transporting large precast concrete elements
Precast concrete elements are heavy, often over-length and sometimes over-width: beams, columns, wall panels, prestressed girders. They usually arrive on site in assembly sequence – the crane is already waiting.
What matters
- Weight and length
- Prestressed beams and girders are long and heavy at once.
- Support
- Elements are supported at defined points so that no cracks form.
- Wall panels
- Upright on inloaders or racks – check height.
- Assembly sequence
- Delivery to suit assembly, often straight from the vehicle to the crane.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which elements, with dimensions and weights?
- How many, and in what order?
- Are there support points per structural design?
- What is the site access like?
- Is assembly straight from the vehicle?
What we need from you

- Assembly plan

Preparation: You hand over the cargo ready for loading with known lifting points – dismantling, assembly and foundation work are handled by your team or your installation partner.
What we do for you
What we organise
- Feasibility check per project with questions on missing values
- Coordination of permits, escort vehicles, route surveys and lifting equipment via partners
- Quote with the agreed scope once the transport can be planned
Good to know
Share support points and lifting anchors from the plant's specifications – then we plan loading and securing accordingly.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state the cargo, dimensions and weight per piece with units, rough route and time window – marking anything unknown.
- 02
Review
We check elements, route and sequence and clarify vehicles and permits.
- 03
Quote
After the feasibility check you receive a quote with the agreed scope, including partner services.
- 04
Execution
Transports after permit, delivery in assembly sequence.
Questions and answers: Precast concrete elements
How are long concrete beams transported?
On special trailers or with a steerable dolly, supported at the points specified by the precast plant.
Can elements be installed straight from the vehicle?
Yes, if sequence and crane are coordinated. This saves interim storage on site.
Who defines the support points?
The precast plant or structural design. We load and secure accordingly.
